Affordable Reformer Pilates Classes in Nottingham: How I Set Rise’s Prices (and Why I Believe They’re Fair)

When I decided to open Rise Pilates Studio, I wanted it to feel like the kind of place I’d want to train in myself - welcoming, uplifting, and financially accessible. I want Rise to be a studio where everyone - whether you’re brand new to Pilates or a seasoned reformer regular - can move, breathe, and feel stronger without worrying about hidden costs or luxury price tags.

I didn’t want anyone to feel priced out of something that could genuinely make them feel stronger and calmer. Pilates changed my life, and I wanted to make sure the way I priced Rise reflected that - fair, transparent, and grounded in reality.

So before I set a single price, I did my homework: I listened, I researched, and I cared about getting it right.

Listening to What Local People Actually Want

Before opening the studio, I ran a survey with local residents in and around Keyworth and West Bridgford to understand what really mattered to people when choosing a Pilates studio.

More than 80% of people said price and value were their top priorities - even above location or timetable options. That really stuck with me.

It told me that people want high-quality Pilates that feels worth it - something that fits their life, not something that feels out of reach.

Comparing Studios Across Nottinghamshire

Then I went full spreadsheet mode. I sat down (with several cups of tea and far too many tabs open) and compared 20 local Pilates studios across Nottingham, West Bridgford, and the wider Nottinghamshire area, including some really well-known names. By the end, I’d basically become a one-woman market analyst.

I looked at everything:

  • Monthly memberships (4, 8, 12, and 16 classes)

  • Class passes and intro offers

  • Cost per session

  • Pre- and post-natal options

  • Small group and private pricing

After pulling it all together, I worked out the average cost per class in the area. Most studios charge between £13 and £14.50 per class, with monthly memberships for 12 classes averaging around £158.

But some were much higher - a few were charging £20 per class even on a membership, and even more for drop-ins. That’s nearly £80 a week if you attend regularly - and that just didn’t sit right with me.

The research gave me a really clear picture of the local market. But I don’t think anyone should have to budget their wellbeing. So I set out to create something better balanced - high quality, yes, but also fair.

How Rise Compares

From there, I set Rise’s prices to be competitive but fair, while still reflecting the premium experience I wanted to create - reformer classes, jumpboard, tower, soft lighting, infrared heat, and a community-first atmosphere.

Here’s where I’ve landed:

That means Rise sits right in line with (or slightly better value) the local average, while offering a beautifully designed space, small class sizes, and experienced instructors. It’s not about being the cheapest. It’s about being fair - and making affordable reformer Pilates in Nottingham a real, tangible option for people who want to move regularly.

I’ve also kept the intro offer and class packs competitive, so newcomers can explore Rise without the pressure of a big financial commitment.

Why I Don’t Offer 1:1 Sessions

I decided early on not to offer private 1:1 reformer sessions. Not because I don’t see the value - but because that’s not what Rise is about. For me, it’s all about community. I wanted to create a space where people move together, laugh together, and build strength side by side. That shared energy is what makes Pilates feel so powerful - and it also means I can keep the classes small, personal, and affordable without compromising on quality.

Making Pilates Accessible (and Real)

I know what it feels like to look at fitness studios and feel like they’re just not made for you. Too expensive, too clinical, too exclusive. I wanted Rise to be the opposite of that.

Starting something new can be daunting - physically, mentally, and financially. That’s why I’ve made Rise’s pricing simple: there are no hidden extras, no contracts, and no complicated tiers. Just clear, flexible memberships that work around real life.

Whether you live in Keyworth, West Bridgford, Ruddington, Edwalton, or anywhere nearby, Rise is designed to be a space that feels approachable and kind - a place you actually want to show up to.

And if you’re new to reformer Pilates, the intro offers and class packs make it easy to test it out without a big commitment. I want people to fall in love with the way Pilates makes them feel. You’ll know quickly whether it feels right for you - and that’s the way it should be.

Fair Prices. Real People. Honest Intentions.

I opened Rise because Pilates gave me back my strength, confidence, and sense of self. Setting my prices was never about being the cheapest - it was about being fair.

I know what it feels like to count every penny, to want something good for yourself, but not want to overspend. I wanted to create something beautiful, professional, and genuinely good value - something that anyone in Nottingham could walk into and feel, ‘Yes, this is for me.’

The aim was simple:

✨ Keep pricing fair and flexible

✨ Build community, not exclusivity.

✨ Make high-quality Pilates accessible to more people.

So when you join Rise, you’re not just paying for a class. You’re investing in a space designed for connection, confidence, and joy - because Pilates shouldn’t be about perfection or privilege. It should be about movement that lifts you up, and a community that helps you rise.

If you’re curious about trying Rise for yourself, you can check out the class timetable or explore our memberships. Whether you join once a week or four times, you’ll always be part of something built on kindness, connection, and the belief that everyone deserves to feel strong.
